About
Harco Smit
Enabling Flow in Systems & People — IT Architect, Business Process Consultant, and Energetic Bodywork Practitioner.
Who I am
25 years of structure, flow and change
I started my career in chemical technology before making the shift to enterprise IT — a transition that taught me early on that you can become whatever you want, as long as you commit to the work.
Over the past 25 years I’ve designed and realised complex distributed systems across enterprise environments — SOA, EAI, BPM and B2B integration, middleware architecture, and leading development and support teams.
What changed over time is where my focus sits. Technology is still the foundation, but the real work happens at the intersection of systems, processes and the people who carry them.
"Sustainable solutions arise when structure, flow and people move in the same direction."
— Harco Smit
How I work
Independent. Senior. Committed.
01
Senior perspective, every time
I work alone. That means you always deal directly with the most experienced person in the room — not a junior consultant following a template.
02
Structure without bureaucracy
I bring frameworks and methodology where they help, and skip them where they don’t. The goal is clarity and progress, not process for its own sake.
03
Long-term thinking
I’m not interested in solutions that work once. I design for the organisation that has to carry the outcome — years after I’ve left.

The human side of change
Alongside my IT work, I practice energetic bodywork — Reiki, Lomi Lomi massage and Ho’oponopono. These traditions have deepened my understanding of flow, blockage and transformation in ways that inform everything I do.
